Scrappin' Saturday VI

Sorry about the lack of posting - I've been very busy lately!
This page is titled 'Gifts for Sis' and has 3 projects that I've made for my sister. In the upper left corner, "George", upper right, "The Poncho", and lower left, the "Crime Scene Scarf".

 
Background & Border: The background is a sheet of brown scrapbook paper. The border is a pre-cut strip from a pack that my Mom got at a homeschooling convention. I used the Fiskars Border Punch, Lace along one edge.  The letters on the border are from the Cuttlebug Red Tag Sale Alphabet Die Set.
 Photo Layers: All of the layers were cut to the size I wanted, and most of the corners were rounded with a punch. The picture of 'George' has gold colored photo corners.
Photo Labels: For the labels under the photos, I used Spellbinders Ribbon Tags Trio.
Present: The present is a Sizzix Sizzlits Die called gift, polka dot. I can't find a link to it anywhere, so it must be retired. 

Scrapping Saturday V

My cross stitch pages aren't done yet, so the next page is Felting. The project is my coasters and trivet set.

Background: The Decorative Scrapbook Paper (DSP) is by Created Keepsakes, and is titled 'IVY'. You can't see it, but I used the corner punch on the DSP corners, as well as the photo corners.
Punches: The corner heart punch is by Fiskars. The purple heart at the top right of the page is from Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Hearts and the other hearts are from a punch that I can't seem to locate right now. 
Letters: The letter 'F' is a fancy chipboard letter that is sticky on one side. The rest of the letters are made with the Cuttlebug Red Tag Sale Alphabet.
Journaling Layers: The journaling space consists of three layers of paper, cut in graduating sizes using the Nestabilities Spellbinders Labels One.

Scrappin' Saturday IV

Today's page is all about Crochet. Since I'm not much of a crocheter, there are only three projects on this page: The kitty-turned-caterpillar, ice cream sandwiches, and the PBJ Sandwich.

 Border: After cutting a strip of paper to the width I wanted, I used Fiskars Border Punch - Lace on one edge.
Letters: Cuttlebug Red Tag Sale. The paper is just some solid colored paper I had laying around.
Labels: The blue one is from the Spellbinders Labels One set. The pink label is from the Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Ovals Large set.
Photos: The rectangular photo was cropped, corners rounded, and layered. The square picture of the sandwich was cropped, then commercial photo corners were applied. The oval picture was cut using the Creative Memories Custom Cutting System Oval Patterns.The ice cream sandwich photo was cropped to the size I wanted, then I rounded the corners.

Wedding Gift

A friend of mine was married last weekend. I honestly had no idea what to make for a wedding gift - due to my sister's wedding I didn't have time to make my usual wedding gift. Next thing I knew it was two weeks before the wedding, and I still didn't have any clue what to make. I asked my Mom is she had any ideas, and she mentioned a set of coasters that a friend had sent her. Mom emailed her friend for the pattern, and I made them in an afternoon with a week to spare!

Finding just the right fabrics was difficult. I could have used 5 different fabrics, if I'd wanted, but I had a hard enough time just coming up with three. I was going to make 8 coasters, but there was barely enough of the maroon fabric to make 6. I used my rotary cutter to cut everything out- aren't rotary cutters great?
The back is just a solid square. For some reason it didn't photograph very well - it has some feathery swirls or leaves, and the little sprays of purple flowers.Okay, I just uploaded the picture to the post, and you can see all the detail.

After cutting out all the pieces and pressing the top pieces in half, it was time to stack everything together. I used a lot of pins to make sure the pieces didn't shift while I was sewing and leave a gap in the middle. I'm very pleased with the way they came out, and someday, maybe I will have time to make a set for myself.

Scrappin' Saturday III

The next page is of beaded projects. Hairsticks, a bracelet, and ceiling fan pulls.

Edge: I used a square punch that we have, and turned the squares on end to look (kind of) like beads.
Labels: For the two diamond-shaped labels, I used the Spellbinders Labels One set. The oval (in the center of the bracelet) is from the Spellbinders Large Oval set.
Photos: All photos but the center photo were cropped, and the corners rounded. For the center oval, I used the Creative Memories Oval Cutting System.
