Tatted Trees

These were some quick and easy gifts for people who have everything else. The thread is DMC Pearl Cotton, (art. 115) size 5, color 699. One skein made 4 trees, and there is enough left for 2 or 3 more. To keep the thread from tangling, I cut it in half and wound 2 shuttles with it.
The pattern is from the Big Book of Tatting. It has a couple of mistakes, like nearly every pattern in the book, but as you can see, I figured it out.

These are darling! I have that same book! Isn't it funny how something looks different; more appealling when someone else does it. This pattern never "called my name" until I saw them here! LOL!

They weren't the most appealing project to me, either. Once I started tatting them though, I really liked them. :)

I am really in awe ... tatting has always been one of those 'mystery crafts' that I've seen in magazines, but never had the courage to try. Your trees are gorgeous.

Jen- Tatting was a mystery to me, too, until I found someone to teach me. Now that I know the stitches, it's very easy.
